Fifty years ago, in December 1972, the late Governor Cecil Andrus appointed a group of 10 prominent citizens to serve on the board of a new statewide foundation that would have the ability to receive donations of valuable lands that would become state parks. Since then, the Idaho Foundation for Parks and Lands has evolved to meet the needs of our growing community by preserving vital conservation lands and sustainable agricultural opportunities.
